Epilepsy: what you need to know

Epilepsy is a chronic condition in which repeated seizures occur due to a disorder in the brain. Symptoms may include:
⚡️ Convulsions;
⚡️ Short-term loss of consciousness (absences);
⚡️ Uncontrolled movements.
What to do if someone is having a seizure?
1️⃣ Remove dangerous objects.
2️⃣ Do not put anything in the mouth.
3️⃣ Lay the person on their side.
4️⃣ Do not stop movement.
5️⃣ If the seizure lasts longer than 5 minutes, call an ambulance.
People with epilepsy can lead full lives, but it is important that they feel supported and understood.
